Presents the 1st Annual 1/2 day Technology Seminar


Please join us on November 8, 2017 for a 1/2 day Security Seminar.  We'll start with our regularly scheduled monthly meeting including breakfast and speaker for the first hour. Stay until lunch and enjoy two additional speakers and a wonderful lunch!  You could earn 4 CPE credits if you decide to stay for the entire session.


Cost:  $25 regular meeting including breakfast

                  $100 for 1/2 day seminar breakfast and lunch

Schedule and Speaker

8 AM – 9 AM speaker:  Gene Bandy

Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at The Juice Plus Company of Collierville, TN.  His presentation title is: “Computer Crime 101: The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, Current Trends, and the Future of Ethical Hacking”.

The Juice Plus Company is a global enterprise inspiring healthy living in more than 20 different countries around the world.  Mr. Bandy is responsible for all Cybersecurity functions such as Architecture, IAM (Identity and Access Management), Threat Management, Security Incident Response, and Risk and Compliance Management.  Mr. Bandy has been in the information technology industry for over 20 years, and has specialized in cybersecurity for the last 10 years.

9:15 AM – 10:45 AM speaker:  Thomas Davis

Director of Information Security, Compliance, and Risk at ServiceMaster.  His presentation title is: “Information Security at the Speed of Business”.

Thomas Davis is an Information Technology Leader with more than 15 years of experience in InfoSec and a demonstrated capacity to implement innovative security programs that drive awareness, decrease exposure, and strengthen organizations. Notable success directing corporate initiatives in support of business objectives. Track record of motivating and leading through diverse hands-on experience of information technology efforts.  Current certifications include CISSP, GSEC, ISA (PCI DSS v3.2), and ITIL (v3 Foundations).


10:50 AM – 12:15 PM speaker:  David Alkema

Managing Principal Consultant, Advisory Services at Optiv.  His presentation title is: “Application Security – The Seat Belt Sign is Off”.

David Alkema is a Managing Principal Consultant in Optiv’s Advisory Services practice as part of the Applications Security team. He delivers a variety of service offerings, including application security assessments, source code reviews, secure application architecture reviews and threat modeling to Optiv clients. David has conducted assessments for national and international clients.  David has over 15 years working in information technology. Prior to joining Optiv, David was a security advisor for a Fortune 100 company, where he performed application security, PCI assessments, developed and delivered security training, and developed secure mobile application guidelines. He had moved into that role from a senior application developer role, and brings experience working with large development efforts and teams. David has technical expertise in C++, C#, .NET, Windows Installer, and Java.
